Miyo vaknar ur en olycklig dröm och funderar över meningen bakom hennes drömmar. Strax efter går Miyo och shoppar med Kiyoka och Hazuki. Hon känner plötsligt att någon tittar på henne precis innan hon möter Tadakiyo Kudou, Kiyoka och Hazukis pappa. Tadakiyo informerar Kiyoka om Grotesqueries framträdanden på landsbygden och vill att han ska undersöka saken. Även om Kiyoka bråkar om Tadakiyos pensionering, får han sedan en personlig förfrågan från prins Takaihito. Nästa dag åker Miyo med Kiyoka för att besöka sina föräldrar. Efter att de kommit fram till villan träffar Miyo Fuyu, Kiyokas mamma. Fuyu accepterar dock inte Miyo som Kiyokas fästmö och förolämpar henne framför Kiyoka, till stor ilska. Under deras tid i byn ber Kiyoka Miyo om ursäkt för vad som hände med hans mamma när han blir orolig för henne. Miyo försäkrar Kiyoka att hon vill ha ett band med Fuyu och ber honom att vaka över henne, vilket han förstår och låter henne göra det. Under tiden får Arata en audiens hos prins Takaihito och anförtros ett brådskande uppdrag.

Nästa morgon ger Fuyu, som är missnöjd med Kiyokas förlovning, Miyo i uppdrag att utföra hushållsuppgifter. Miyo börjar ändå sina uppgifter i Kudouvillan. När Fuyu får reda på att Miyo inte gav upp, konfronterar hon Miyo och förolämpar henne ännu en gång. Miyo förblir dock oberörd och uttrycker sin beslutsamhet att stanna vid Kiyokas sida. Frustrerad försöker Fuyu slå Miyo, men Tadakiyo stoppar henne och förtalar henne. När Tadakiyo tar med henne tillbaka upp på övervåningen säger Fuyu till Miyo att hon inte har ansvaret för familjen Kudou. Under tiden undersöker Kiyoka en övergiven byggnad där han upptäcker laboratorieexperiment och en svart mantel med emblemet. Han stöter sedan på en misstänkt man med mantel och underkuvar honom. Mannen hävdar att han skänks av grundaren innan han tar livet av sig. Efter sin utredning har Kiyoka ett samtal med Miyo som börjar förstå sin mamma. Nästa dag försöker Miyo prata med Fuyu men Fuyu ignorerar henne kallt. Senare förs en ung bybo till Kudouvillan. Han varnar för att byn är under attack precis innan han plötsligt kollapsar. Medan Kiyoka är på väg till byn försöker Miyo använda sin drömsyn på den unge bybor men stoppas av Aratas plötsliga uppträdande.

16 3 ”The Gifted Communion and

Kiyoka arrives to the abandoned building where he is confronted by a man named Houjou. Kiyoka fights a Grotesquerie while Tadakiyo deals with two more followers. After Kiyoka defeats the Grotesquerie, he and his father discover that the villager was forced to turn into one through unknown methods. Meanwhile, with Arata’s support, Miyo enters inside the dream and saves the young villager’s life. Following the crisis, Kiyoka informs Arata about the Gifted Communion, a religious cult led by Naoshi Usui. Arata reveals to Miyo and Kiyoka that Usui shares the Usuba blood. Later, Miyo makes her first kiss with Kiyoka under the moonlight. The next day, Miyo is visited by Fuyu who gives her a stern lecture while slightly acknowledging her determination as Kiyoka’s fiancee. She gives Miyo a ribbon as a gift before she leaves. Miyo leaves the Kudou villa with Kiyoka and Arata. But when they return to the capital, they encounter Usui.

17 4 ”What the Autumn Breeze Brought”

After Miyo, Kiyoka, and Arata meet Usui in person, Usui tells Miyo that he will come for her before he disappears. Due to Miyo being Usui’s possible target, Kiyoka assigns Kaoruko Jinnouchi as her bodyguard. As Kaoruko gives Miyo a tour, Miyo watches Kaoruko having a sparring match at the dojo while having a conversation with Mukadeyama, Kaoruko’s superior. Miyo begins to understand the soldiers’ treatment towards her, not only because she is a woman but because of her connection to the Usubas. Meanwhile, Arata talks with Yoshirou about Usui. That night, Kiyoka watches the moonlight with Miyo while he recalls his past conversation with his father regarding his feelings for Miyo. Later, Miyo finds herself in a dream where she sees her mother chastising Usui when they were children. The next day, Kaoruko helps Miy clean up the kitchen. At the infirmary, Kazushi visits Godou, who is injured from the raid on the Gifted Communion, just as Godou is surprised to find out about Kaoruko.

18 5 ”Deep Within the Heart”

Miyo overhears three soldiers disparaging Kaoruko and defends her. One of them, who was Kaoruko’s sparring partner, tells Miyo off that women have no physical abilities when it comes to fighting. Miyo questions that why he didn’t beat Kaoruko in the sparring match. To his anger, he attempts to strike Miyo but is stopped by Kaoruko. He then angrily storms off while Kaoruko gets irritated. Miyo cheers Karouko up by having tea with homemade sweets. Later, Miyo and Kiyoka visit Godou where she meets Jakuji Unan, the infirmary doctor. When they come to see Godou, Kiyoka quickly excuses himself just before Godou tells Miyo about Kiyoka’s past. Miyo then is surprised to find out that Kaoruko used to be Kiyoka’s ex-fiancee. After visiting Godou, Kiyoka opens up to Miyo. Miyo wishes to know more about Kiyoka as she asks him if he and Kaorouko were in love. He strongly reassures Miyo that she is the only fiancee he approves of. The next day, Miyo suddenly wakes up from another foreboding dream. Later, Kaoruko confides to Miyo about her feelings for Kiyoka and how she is poorly treated due to being a woman. Miyo comforts Kaoruko and tells her that she still wants to be friends with her. Meanwhile, Arata discovers the Gifted Communion kidnaps the Emperor and sends a shikigami to warn Kiyoka. After Kiyoka leaves to help Arata, Miyo is left under the protection by Mukadeyama, Kaoruko and the other soldiers. However, Usui suddenly appears before them.

19 6 ”The Man Called Naoshi Usui”

Kiyoka and his soldiers meet up with Arata. But when they are about to rescue the Emperor, General Masashi arrives and warns Kiyoka that Miyo is in danger. Usui has Miyo and the others trapped and exposes Kaoruko as the traitor. Kaorouko confesses that she tampered the barrier because she found out her father is taken hostage by the Gifted Communion. But when one of the soldiers mentions about her father, Kaoruko is too late to realize that she was tricked. Then, Mukadeyama suddenly finds his soliders attacking each other. He tries to attack Usui but finds himself caught in an illusion before Usui wounds him. Kaoruko protects Miyo as she fights Usui, but is overwhelmed. Usui urges Miyo to come with him, but she refuses after seeing Kaoruko and the others getting hurt. Usui attempts to take her by force, but Kiyoka intervenes in time and destroys the barrier. Usui quickly escapes. Following the incident, Arata asks General Masashi for permission to investigate alone. Afterwards, he is suddenly approached by Usui, who offers Arata to join the Gifted Communion. Mukadeyama apologizes to Miyo for his judgement towards her and praises her bravery for confronting Usui. Later, Miyo and Kiyoka celebrate an end of the year party with Hazuki, Yurie, Godou and Arata. Miyo then receives a surprise visit from Kaoruko. Kaoruko informs Miyo that she is given a minor punishment, thanks to Kiyoka and Mukadeyama. She then tearfuly asks Miyo to be her friend which Miyo happily accepts.

20 7 ”A New Year’s Commotion”

Prince Takaihito and General Masashi discuss the Emperor’s disappearance. Meanwhile, Miyo and Kiyoka make their first shrine visit. Soon after, they witness an omnious public demostration held by the supporters of the Gifted Communion. While Godou and his subordinates arrive to arrest them, Kiyoka then gives Miyo a shikigami as her protection. Later, Kiyoka discusses with General Masashi and Godou about the Gifted Communion’s influence on the capital. Miyo once again dreams of her mother and Usui, but suddenly wakes up when Usui notices her presence. Miyo and Kiyoka begin to stay at the imperial palace as he has assigned to protect Prince Takaihito. Hazuki, Yurie and Arata join to keep Miyo company. Miyo discusses with Arata about her recent dream as he explains that she has not yet awaken the power of the Dream-Sight. Kiyoka and Godou discuss with Kaoruko, who communicates with them by using a mirror, about Usui and his inside man.

21 8 ”An Evening Banquet and Distant Snow”

Prince Takaihito has an imperial meeting with the ministers and suggests on focusing on protecting the imperial palace. That night, Hazuki invites Miyo on a ladies’ night party with Yurie, Kaoruko, and Prince Takaihito, who prefers to be addressed as ”Lady Takako”. After the party, Takaihito talks with Miyo alone before he gives her an omnious warning. While Miyo grows concerned about Kiyoka, she and Arata are approached by Hasebe, the minister of Education. Hasebe attempts to make an offer for the Usuba’s powers but Arata angrily rejects and demands Hasebe to leave. Takakura, the prince’s close aide, arrives and tells the minister to refrain his actions on the palace grounds. Later, Miyo and Kiyoka find only one futon and reluctantly decide to sleep together. They both have a conversation about having romantic feelings. Miyo suddenly ends up looking at Kiyoka face to face but she moves away. He tells Miyo that he will be here when she is ready.

22 9 ”Dream Tidings”

After capturing a Grotesquerie, Kiyoka has Unan examine the body. They find a sphere containing something inside. Meanwhile, Miyo finds herself in a dream where Usui speaks with Sumi at the Saimori residence. Sumi tells Usui that he does not need to protect her as she has found her happiness and implores him to find something important to him. Miyo discovers that she has actually entered Usui’s dreams. After Miyo quickly wakes up, she, along with Hazuki and Yurie, hears gunshots and finds Hasebe’s secretary with two dead imperial guards. While Yurie goes to find help, Hazuki urges Miyo to escape but the secretary incapacitates Hazuki and goes after Miyo. He then transforms into a Grotesquerie by swallowing a sphere and attacks Miyo. Later, Kazushi helps Kiyoka as he unseal the sphere that contains claws of a Grotesquerie. Unan theorizes of how humans can tranform into Grotesqueries by using certain materials. After Yurie finds Hazuki injured, Hazuki sends a shikigami to warn Kiyoka. Hasebe conspires with Usui after the minsiter of the army is assassinated. As Miyo refuses to scream for help, Kiyoka rescues her. Kazushi removes the sphere from the Grotesquerie’s body and Kiyoka delivers the finishing blow. Miyo tries to warn Kiyoka but watches in horror as he is wounded with two gunshots by Arata. Before he is taken away, Kiyoka confesses his love to Miyo, causing her to break down in tears and despair.

23 10 ”Promise”

När Miyo får veta att Kiyoka har tagits till fånga i arméns högkvarter, försöker hon rädda Kiyoka på egen hand men hon stoppas av en ung pojke, som visar sig vara Kiyokas shikigami. Han föreslår att Miyo ska besöka familjen Usuba för att lära sig mer om Usui. Efter att hon lyckats smyga sig ut med Takakuras hjälp ger Miyo Kiyokas shikigami namnet ”Kiyo”. I Usuba-residenset berättar Yoshirou för Miyo om Usuis förflutna samtidigt som han avslöjar att Usubas ursprungligen planerade att försegla Usuis opinokinesis på grund av att de var kraftfulla och farliga för omgivningen tills han kom mycket nära Sumi. Sedan ger han Miyo en speciell bok för att hjälpa henne lära sig om drömsynen. Miyo bevittnar sin mammas minnen med Usui i sina drömmar och börjar förstå Usuis känslor för Sumi och hur han påverkades av hennes död. Nästa dag väcker Miyo äntligen sin drömsyn, utan tvekan fast besluten att stoppa Usui.

24 11 ”A Resolute Departure”

Under Kiyokas fängelse anklagar han Arata för hans förräderi precis som Arata bara säger till honom att hans handlingar är till för Miyo och familjen Usuba. Under tiden tar Miyo hjälp av Special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit, Tadakiyo och Kazushi, som frivilligt hjälper henne att rädda Kiyoka. Senare konfronterar Hasebe Usui över Takaihitos intakta auktoritet innan Houjou bränner honom. Nästa dag slåss Godou, Mukadeyama och resten av soldaterna mot den begåvade nattvarden medan Miyo, Kazushi och Kiyo framgångsrikt infiltrerar högkvarteret. De går in i fängelset där de upptäcker en klot som används som en barriär för att hindra dem från att använda sina andliga förmågor. Kazushi försöker skingra barriären men Grotesquerie dyker plötsligt upp. Kiyo distraherar demonen bara för att bli sårad av den. Miyo springer sedan snabbt iväg när Grotesquerie jagar efter henne. Kiyoka räddar Miyo när han förstör den med sin pyrokinetiska kraft efter att Kazushi lyckats förstöra barriären. Efter att Miyo återförenats med Kiyoka, återgår Kiyo till en shikigami när hans roll att skydda Miyo är klar. Efter att ha räddat Kiyoka går Kazushi och Tadakiyo med i kampen mot den begåvade nattvarden medan Miyo och Kiyoka slutligen konfronterar Usui med Arata vid hans sida.

25 12 ” Feelings Beyond Dreams

Kiyoka slåss mot Usui men faller för Usuis opinokinesis där han ser illusioner om att Miyo blir dödad. Miyo försöker hjälpa Kiyoka men stoppas av Arata där hon har en vision om att Arata och Usui dödas efter att de levererat sin dödliga attack till varandra. För att förhindra Arata och Usuis död, använder Miyo sina krafter och överför Kiyoka, Arata, Usui till drömvärlden. Miyo försöker uppmana Usui att sluta skada människor och säger till honom att hennes mamma bara önskade hans lycka, men att hennes ord inte når honom. Usui attackerar henne och Kiyoka, men Sumi ingriper. Usui säger sedan frenetiskt till henne att han kommer att förstöra och återskapa världen för henne och Miyo, men Sumi säger till honom att hon inte önskade sig en värld där Miyos krafter blir överlägsna. Usui sticker sedan sig själv för att med våld lämna drömvärlden. När Miyo återvänder till verkligheten, ser hon Usui överanvända sina krafter precis innan Arata skjuter på Usui två gånger, men sticks med Usuis kniv strax efter. Sårad säger Arata till Miyo att förlåta honom. Usui dukar för sina sår och dör och går med Sumi i livet efter detta. När Arata tas för medicinsk behandling, beklagar Miyo hennes misslyckande med att förändra framtiden men Kiyoka tröstar henne och försäkrar henne om att hon gjorde allt hon kunde.

26 13 ”När våren kommer…”

Efter Usuis död hade serien av incidenter med den begåvade nattvarden slutat medan kejsaren räddades. Kiyoka tillkännager sin avgång som kapten för Special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit och planerar att anförtro sin roll till Godou. På sjukstugan besöker Miyo Arata, som avslöjar sin anledning till varför han gick med i den begåvade nattvarden innan han dödade Usui. Efteråt får Miyo en bröllopskimono från Hazuki och Fuyu innan han går på en dejt med Kiyoka. När de återvänder hem erbjuder Takakura Miyo att använda hennes drömsyn och tjäna under prins Takaihito samtidigt som hon bjuder in henne till det kejserliga palatset. Dagen efter diskuterar Godou med Kiyoka om hans avgång. Medan Godou är osäker säger Kiyoka åt Godou att ha självförtroende. Den natten informerar Kiyoka Miyo att han bestämmer sig för att dra sig tillbaka från militären för att vara med henne. Följande dag får Miyo en audiens hos prins Takaihito där hon informerar honom om att hon bara vill vara med Kiyoka, vilket Takaihito accepterar hennes önskemål. Efteråt planerar Kiyoka och Miyo att plantera ett körsbärsträd i sin trädgård för att fira deras bröllop.
